Steamer, When you say braze a washer on are you saying to use a MIG with low heat and feed speed to weld the washer to the bottom of the pan or some different type of welding that you are referring to? Thanks for all the help.

I'd use Tom's idea with the silver solder. Ordinary plumbing solder is tough to do on steel. Silver solder works good on steel to steel or brass to steel. Flows real nice & easy to control. Second choice would be the flux coated brass brazing rods. (sorry for the late response) DSC03541w.jpg
 
Thanks all, I think those are above my skill set at the moment so will send it to a shop to have it done. Just need to get this pan back on and the engine installed so I can finish the detailed installation. Would like to at least drive the thing this summer.
