2B & 3B

In need of tech support; currently my BJ has a 2B engine that is a “Run away”.
Have a 3B with a turbo kit that I can install which will go in for the 2B.
My question is what can I save out of the 2B once is out of the rig?
Will the injection pumps are compatible ( they do have different Denso numbers), how about injectors, oil pump, etc.?
I would imagine block, head and crankshaft would be different?.
I just want to save as many parts that are compatible as possible.

Do you know what caused the runaway? That's scary, and unfortunate. I don't have exact knowledge but I bet there's still quite a bit that's compatible, the major changes are bore and stroke, so anything that doesn't relate to that might work. Timing components, covers, oiling system components, some of the valvetrain possibly. The downward facing oil filter mount will be nice with your turbo kit if your 3B doesn't already have one. Also the injection pump and injectors are going to be tuned a little different but might work, if they are ever rebuilt they could probably be matched to the specs that a 3B calls for.
If you were closer I'd buy some 2B parts for my stash.

The runaway on your NA (I assume) 2B is most likely the injection pump (rack stuck open). Is there any damage to the engine?

Many of the 2B parts will be useable, but you need to establish what went wrong with the 2B.

I’d disassemble the 2B engine, At first glance no major damage to the engine, so probably was the injection pump.
Lots of parts fit the 3B, I will save the block, head, crankshaft, camshaft, pistons and front timing/oil case and cover (it is different from the 3B) for someone who ever needs something.
What is sad on my end is the A/C complete unit!!! The 3B front cover will not take the compressor bracket and tensioner; so I will probably put up for sell in the classifieds later.
Complete with the inside controls and vent.
Better for someone that has a 2B and would like A/C.

Many of the 2B parts will be useable, but you need to establish what went wrong with the 2B.

I removed the injection pump cover plate, rack moves freely, but could be something else internal beyond my junk yard mechanic certificate!!!. I will send it to be rebuild down the road, may work for me as spare; the only difference I noticed compared to the 3B pump is the back end of the 3B has the DAC while the 2B does not; but looks like the backs are interchangeable.

I changed to a new diaphragm about a year ago.
What do you mean by lines cracked or unhooked?

the diaphragm venturi reference lines need to be hooked up properly and not damaged, have a look
