Interesting how different trucks have different outcomes, what UCAs?
It may not be entirely the UCA's, but also the alignment.
If you can get the alignment caster moved forward, you'll get less or no rubbing. I have to do that to fit 35's on mine.

I’ve seen one person do it so I am going to try it when my current tires are worn out.

Check out the official wheel and tire thread on clublexus. The guy is DesiOC.

Did you ever do this? Really curious what the mods (if any) need to be. Looking to purchase a GX in the next few months and this would be the first thing I do...

I have run 33x10.5r17s and currently running 285/70R17s. As long as you use stock offset, push back your liners and maybe get an alignment you should be fine. Running wheels with poke or spacers will increase your scrub radius and make it harder to fit.

Good to know! Thank you

I do a lot of rutted out B roads when they dry out after the good Ole boys rut them out. The skinny to medium width 33 is a great option. If you are concerned 265/70r18 is 32.6 on average and slightly narrower.

Agreed, even when I was running 285/75R17 that are 11.2" wide, just some pinch weld pounding and a little liner molding with a hot air gun and you'll be fine. I didn't need a special alignment (read: moving caster forward) till I mounted 315/70R17's.

Not a whole lot of talk about transmission behaviors with different tire sizes in the minutia. How significant was the change in with the 315s? (currently on 305s, and considering the 34x10.5s out there to shave 20lbs of rotating mass per corner.

When I had front and rear ARB lockers installed I also regeared to 4:56 (Nitro Gear Package - https://www.justdifferentials.com/Toyota-Gear-Package-p/gpfjcruiserxxx-3.htm) with the initial build (~5 years ago). Have had no issues with tire size and the transmission hunting for gears, either with my foot on the throttle or in cruise control.
We have some long grades down here (Grapevine, Cajon Pass and a couple of others) and I can lock in at 70 mph and it'll do just fine, albeit, it is in 5th gear, not 6th. But the point is that it doesn't constantly shift up and down. It finds it's gear and just cruises.

Have been searching for info on this combo but haven’t found any. Thinking about a 2” lift with 275x70r18(33x11) tires. Does anyone have any info on that combo, if it will even be compatible?
