24V Float/Maintenance Battery Charger

For fast disconnect I have a charge cable in the grill.
I have adjusted voltage to higher 29.5 volt, bought one new alternator, two new batteries (charge 14.7x2=29.4Volt) and the Lasse tip vannguard for $170 but now have to wait for shipping cost (+70 dollar, total 303 euro with tax )
Below is the pdf manual, seems a must have but I don't need the 12v supply, I have a 24v converter, difficult choice. I believe the keep them below 0.1 volt difference.
My volt meter shows the voltage difference, even now with two new batteries without being driven there is a difference.

I think most 24v diesel somehow end up with one broken battery, then voltage difference and then the other breaks to.
It seems 0.1 voltage difference is normal operating tolerance, more will defect.

A friend repairs wheelchairs and it happens a lot: he must replace both expensive traction batteries but mostly one is perfect and one broken, still both are tossed.

I have a ctek smart 24v charger for my hj61. Tried mounting it indoors, hooked up to a fuse panel in the footwell that is beefy connected straight to 24v. Well, it worked. But i did get a 0.3v drop to the batteries. And the low side battery got less of a charge.
I got scared, so i undid the mess, and now only uses the charger directly on the batteries, no loss and no difference at the batteries. They are now 3 years old, still going strong, but might not survive the winter here.
(winch use takes its toll)

Had a cheaper charger hooked up to the snowmobile last winter. While i was outside, the thing started to smoke, and actually cought on fire!
So i kicked it out of the garage, and it burnt out in the snow.
Moral is... Even though a charger is smart, it's not smart enough to not light up.
I would not plug in my charger (expensive, not cheap) in my Cruiser more than over night, at most.
I dont trust those damn electronics! I'll plug it in when im home from work, disconnecting when i go to bed.

Update with one experience I have had using the 7200's in 24V mode.
