Looking at the Cooper ST/Maxx skinny's. Does anyone have any thoughts on mounting them on stock 16s? Appreciate any recommendations.

The tires are currently not available in 255/85/16 only in 235. I am replacing my beloved 295/75/16 TGs after 60K.

I'm sure you could, if you wanted to. However, I believe the recommended rim width is 7". I had them on my old Tacoma (16x7" rims). They worked ok for a smaller truck, but it still sucked when cornering and on any off-camber portion of the trails. It just didn't have good lateral grip. Couldn't imagine how much more they would suck on a much heavier vehicle like the 100.

Personally, I'd go to something like a 265/75/16 if you're looking for 32's.

I am running 255/85 16 Cooper Discoverer S/T's on stock rims on my 94 FZJ80. I think 7" is the optimum (for 255's)but cooper approves of 6.5" to 8" on there website. If you click on tire size and specs under each tire on the links below it will show you the recommended rim sizes.

Or if interested in the MAXX, it looks like they say up to 7.5" for the 235.

I like my S/T's a lot, wearing well and handle fine. As good as an 80 can handle.
