Hey MUD bros. I'm having some issues with a motor I built a while back.

Brand new virtually from the crank up, great sounding motor good power ect. Got 1000+ flawless miles out of it happy as a clam. Then yesterday I had a mysterious startup, let it warm up, and went to town. Stopped for gas, sounded a lil rough at idle so I turned the idle screw up a bit to compensate thinking, well, hoping it would help. Anyways long story short after that trip to town and back, I went again and it was running rougher and was seriously lacking in low RPMs. Once I hit around 3k or so (no tach) it hits pretty good and so on for each gear. Any hill and its a slug.
I removed cleaned then swapped the EGR checked all vacuum hoses for cracks or clogs, inspected and changed air filter and MAF. Removed inspected cleaned then swapped O2 sensor with another one I had (not sure if it was any better) and no significant difference. I'm stumped here fellas if anyone has any fresh ideas I'd love to hear from you guys.

Truck info:
92 4x4 short box 250,000 miles
1000 on rebuilt motor
.60 over pistons LC cam pacesetter headers
31" pro comps

I had similar problems and the elbow on the air intake near the corner of the radiator was cracked. Also, if you haven't check your ignition it could be a bad plug or wire. Finally, one time I was stumped for a long time and it turned out to be a clogged injector due to rust in the gas tank.good luck!

Thanks for the reply, ill go over it meticulously again today, is it possibly an O2 sensor issue? Seems like an air/fuel mixture problem to me..

Yes checked for codes, also inspected my intake for cracks and leaks just now. Noticed a bit of carbon inside the manifold. Is there a simple way to clean it without removing the whole manifold or disturbing the TPS?

Also checked valve clearance since they could have possibly seated tighter considering everything is brand new...

Got it for all those stumbling through the first 1/2 of your RPM range. It was the O2 sensor like I read about on other post and forums.
