hellooo,
Having issues with 22re and its progressively worsening running, up to the point it doesn't start because of over fuelling.
ECU has no error codes, injectors are supposedly fine, fuel pump is fine, the remaining bit is the fuel pressure regulating system.
Any hints how to test it? I think the ECU controls the vacuum to the pressure regulator on the rail.

Not many 22RE owners on here. Try the mini truck, Hilux, 4runner forums on IH8MUD

Hello,

You need to check your fuel pump and your sparkplugs.

Sparkplugs get fuel and deposits when the engine gets flooded. You have to remove them and clean every one with a brush.

Your fuel pump may need replacement.

Try starting the engine with the fuel pump disconnected, after you clean the sparkplugs.

If the engine starts and runs after disconnecting the fuel pump, your fuel pump may need replacement.

Check your ignition circuit and make sure the wires in the harness are intact and their contacts are in good condition.

The coil actually melted on our RJ77 with a normally aspirated 22R. Not sure what the ignition setup is on the injected version, but I would check that.
