My son and I working on his truck... We had swapped out the head (with a used one), changed timing chain with and EB one. Compression is good, timing is ok, but now truck misses badly while accelerating, going up hills, etc.

One of the VSV's is broken and the other is plugged with a screw and truck is also missing a couple of vacuum hoses. Anyone know VSV's part #'s? Could vacuum cause the truck to miss? Truck seems to idle ok and when taking it real easy on the accelator at hwy speeds also seems to run ok.

truck is a 92 w/22RE

Also, what does the resonator do?

Thanks,
ML

Vacuum leaks will cause misses.

The two main VSV are for the fuel pressure regulator and the PAIR system. Both can be bypassed and not affect the drivability.

Both need to be routed directly from manifold vacuum to the PAIR or the fuel pressure regulator. Leave the electronics on the VSV in place, as they wont affect anything.

VSV's are really hard to find and most have been discontinued from Toyota, but there not really needed.

Thank you snobdds.

I will definitely try your suggestions.
