So machinist found this crack on the head which we were going to use on a rebuilt spare short block. We ended up buying a new head for the block.

The motor currently on the truck runs but its head has stripped and unrepairable exhaust manifold bolts threads and will not pass inspection.

Question, what kind of problems will I run into if I put the cracked head on the currently installed? We need to run the truck while we finish the rebuild on the spare motor.

Thanks,
ML

I would do it...but then again I like to see things fail.
You would take a chance of having a oil and coolant milk shake.
Not drive it far or very long or hard and watch the coolant level.

The crack might just hold, there's only one way to find out.
