Just picked up an 87 4runner yesterday and am going through the vacumm lines. I see there is one loose line hanging off of the AC VSV, Any idea where this should go?

Also any idea what this is?

while I cant see well enough in the first photo the second and third photos are just a little air spring that keeps the throttle from slamming shut its fine just the way it is.

heres another pic to clarify, there are 2 small hoses coming out of the VSV, in the pic the nipple is underneath that one larger hose, the top one is currently venting to the atmosphere, I am wondering where it supposed to hook up?

according to this diagram it appears both lines go into "acutator" i didnt see a second nipple on the valve, but i will doublecheck

heres the answer for anyone else with the problem

Check the backside of that white thing with the spring and slot on the top to the left of your hand in the first pic. That is the AC actuator and there is a small vacuum fitting on/under it.

The other pic is just a vacuum hose with a filter on it, it looks perfect the way it is.

Yup.

BTW, I am searching for one of those VSVs, mine is fried. I bought one on eBay, when I went to install it a few months later it was fried as well.

ken lemme know if you end up striking out. there's a good chance ive got one for ya.
