22r throttle sticking open?!! (1 Viewer)

22r throttle linkage is sticking! I've used a small bungee to pull back on linkage to lower idle as a temporary fix... Stuck far north in Maine and need to resolve the issue before I drive 4 hr home! Has anyone had an issue like this with carb'd 22r linkage?

Is the return spring shot? what other moving parts could I lubricate to ease the stickiness?

Is there a process in cleaning the linkage?

I was driving through a lot of rain on the highway. Could that be a possible culprit for washing out lubricated parts in linkage? I sprayed WD-40 on all moving parts with no result.

I haven't touched a carb'd 22R in many years, but if you want to stop by on the way home, I'll take a shot at it.

I would see if you couldn't pick up a new spring from home depot or somewhere like it just to check.
