so here is my dilema. i have a 20r swapped into my kick. i love yota's, and i was trying to make my first project truck as hard as possible, so i ended up with the "kick toy".
it would not run very well though (engine only has 30'000 on the rebuild, that is in km's, i'm canadian)
so i sent in the carb for a rebuild to a buddy. for an undisclosed amount it was done, now i need to tune it.
problem 1: i have read, after rebuiding the carb, that the stock carb's are junk! is this a fact? i am trying to learn slowly so i decided to start with a carbed engine, and work my way up to fuel injection.
problem 2: nobody i know has tuned a yota carb. but i have had sugestions how to do it from guys that own ford's and chevy's. i figure it should work the same ut i just want to be sure.
thank you:hillbilly:

stock carbs are challenging to start out learning on casue they have many vacuum hoses.
i have never worked on one. the 1980 truck i bought had a stock one on it, but when it started running like crap, instead of dealing with it, i put a webber on it. a webber is cheap, and easy to tune. dosent use as many hoses. granted there are still some for the manifold and sensors.
but your best bet is buy a webber.

fuel injection is a little more complicated, but its much easier to communicate with than a carburator.

thank you, i will definately read that.
all vacuum hoses are hooked up correctly, and there is not that many cause the truck it came from never had much for emissions, no O2 or cat. converter.
thanks again:hillbilly:
