Trying to button up my 20/22R Hybrid

Anyone got the COLD specs?

Can you adjust them cold and that be it? Or is that just a pipe dream? Anyone had any good/ bad experiences doing this?

Yes I know what the book says and that it also says warm or hot.

Kinda hoping i can do it this way and be done with it. I've done so many RE's and despise doing what you have to do on either motor to set the lash.
Also I've got the adjustments way off, I backed them off to bolt the head on.

THX,

for assembly purposes, obviously you need to set them somewhere. [edit: read what jukelmon wrote. i was mis remembering. maybe i should read the report and try to re remember ( line from Shooter)]

then do it right hot. theres no excuse to slack off.

10-4,

Dain Fart, can I set them hot, get them right, then check them cold and post the findings?

Will every blah, cool the same and that work as far as getting the cold settings?

My guess is every engine is going to be a little different, but what you want is the correct settings while hot, as that's how it's going to be running.... The cold settings above are a good ball park for getting it running after some work/rebuild. Or maybe they are close enough for most folks, but the "right" way is to set them while hot.
