This is the thread for the 2026 TLCA Rubithon Cruiser 2 Run. This run is slated to leave Loon Lake at 11am on Wednesday June 24th.
We are leaving the Loon Lake staging area AT 11am, so be there by 10am to get checked in, signed off and aired down. Don't be late.
If this is your first time on the Rubicon I'd recommend getting in earlier that morning or the night before and walking out to gatekeeper or the slabs and watch one of the runs leaving before us. It's a great way to sip your coffee and get a feel for the trail. I'll likely get in late Tuesday night and hike a little with the first couple of runs Wednesday morning.
We'll be aiming to camp at Buck Island Wednesday night. It can turn into a long day real quick with a big group, especially with an 11am start, so my plan is to keep it moving. I heard all the organized runs sold out, so we'll have about 12 rigs. Try to eat an early lunch before we depart or have lunch handy so we can keep bumping along.
Thursday we'll make the push to Rubicon Springs. It's usually a shorter day, but there'll be a few other runs leaving Buck that day as well. We'll see what time we get in on Wednesday and make a plan for Thursday.
Once we get to the Springs we'll get to hang out for a couple days. Enjoy the Springs and everything Jeff has planned out; bar, music, food, raffle, rc crawling, gold panning, etc. Then Sunday is the exodus up Cadillac. There aren't any organized runs out that day, it's wake up and get in line. The Lake Tahoe Hi-Lo's are usually set up on the hill by 7am to help everyone get out.
I'll be in my 1980 Pickup on 35s. I have some mini truck spares and a bunch of tools always packed with me. Just swapped my 4l60e for a r150 and dual cases. I plan to use HAM radio for communications and I'll have a couple extra handhelds if needed.
Looking forward to another Rubithon. This will be my 5th year running the trail with the event and 3rd year helping. Please introduce yourselves and let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Scott
