First, why is this a feature? Secondly what causes it. My gx sometimes goes in and out of disabled mode. Why? The main 4 doors still lock and unlock, but the back rear door doesn’t lock under any circumstances. (Why no physical lock tab back there on the inside) No sound when they lock, but there is a sound when they unlock. The app on my phone locks and unlocks the main four doors but not the back door. Still drives fine, my second fob behaves the same. The handle “button” locks - no sound, and unlocks when I grab with sound. Back door exterior buttons work lock and unlock, (no sound lock - sound unlock) I’ve taken it in 4 times Lexus dealer can’t figure it out other than resetting it with the scanner. Do I have a Lexus lemon? Lots of warranty repairs, glad I have a 100k warranty.

Just to be sure, for our GX, I have to right next to the rear door with the fob for it to unlock.
Just spit-wadding here, another reason may be the lock/motor is jammed (or something), hence not having enough torque to flip the lock.
Have you pulled the rear panel off and look at it? Or have the Lexus tech do that?

I’ll try on Friday, it’s just that over the last 4 times bringing it in, they haven’t thought to do that. A tech goes into the computer and resets it and it works. I guess I need to tell them (hopefully they will listen) to replace the rear door lock. I’ve already had to replace the front passenger door lock for not locking, but it didn’t have these same symptoms of not beeping and the remote start not working. Never had door lock problems with my f150. I’ve had in the span of 2 years 2 door locks fail. Good thing I bought a 100k warranty, because Lexus isn’t that reliable so far. Also had to replace an AC fan, because it sounded like a kids bicycle wheel with a playing card in it. So much trouble over the last two years neighbors are wondering if I own an RX (the car the dealer gives me).

I get that it's frustrating but just because the door locks don't function properly and some "techs" at a dealership can't figure it out doesn't mean you condemn the car for unreliability. It still runs and drives, the doors still lock and unlock. Many techs these days don't know how to look for anything because they are taught to hook it up to the computer and it will tell you everything that's wrong. You may have to give them a little help from time to time. Is your ext warranty a Lexus warranty or is it aftermarket? If it's aftermarket, find a local shop that will accept it. If it's Lexus warranty, try a different dealership (I know that's not the most convenient). I don't know of any shops in Galveston but I'm sure if you call Duggy's Garage in Houston they could help point you to a shop if you don't know of one.
