Prettty sure that compressor setup is an already available option in the Middle East. Maybe poke around on partssouq?

Edit: did some googling around last night and it sure looks like the NSV as posted by @mbach is what this is. On one of the FJ Cruiser forums they said "the owners of the NSV Auto is actually the monopoly local Toyota here in UAE, he created his own company to add custom parts to his Toyota cars before they sell them". Who knows if it is true, since it is just someone's posting on the internet and we can type whatever we want...

True, but you could make one out of a base cruiser from that region. The stripped out v6 spec Land Cruiser is readily available in many gulf countries. Add some decals and a compressor from NSV and you have the basic same thing. Much like people slap some badges on their 2020 base and it looks like a Heritage edition.

I went to a dealer in the gulf earlier this year and chatted with them about buying. I was drawn to the top spec VX special edition they had with V8 and fancy cross stitched leather interior (the leather was more like Lexus grade stuff). They told me that most of the land cruisers they sell are v6 rather than v8, that the v8 has way more power than needed locally. They encouraged me to buy white exterior and cloth interior for heat (comfort) reasons. Their assertion was that white exterior, cloth interior and v6 are all better for future resale.

standard trans with the v6 option, onboard compressed air, steelies, 80ser nostalgic markings, oh and $46k sticker? I’d buy the sh*t outta one :)
I wouldn’t. Underpowered. I prefer an automatic for off-road driving. If I want onboard air, then I’d want it to be able to power locking diffs. That cloth interior will be stained in a couple years, whereas leather I can easily clean.

The people that really think they’d be happy with a 4 liter, 235hp 6500lb refrigerator shaped vehicle in a country where you need to be able to do 80 up a hill to avoid getting squashed by a semi... I just don’t understand it.
Or that it wouldn’t wear that engine out more quickly hauling that kind of weight and size around.
I think the 4.7 would be barely adequate for people that don’t tow. That plus a six speed manual would be interesting.. but after two years in my 5.7 6speed auto, I can’t imagine it being better. And this is coming from a guy that has converted three separate vehicles from auto to manual.

Add in some armor, bigger tires, a full load of camping gear, and that truck would be a complete pig going up the passes in Colorado.

Like how clean the NSV compressor looks, anyone have one in their rig and if so what do you think ?

Had one in mine since 2014-15. Happily the grey is a perfect match for my 2010 internal trim. They work well enough, look great and super handy for that 'once in a while' need but the compressor is not big. When airing up after an off-road trip I'd always use my portable twin comp.
