Some here dislike my phone mount.......but i love my mount: My Mods/trips thread

Even in hot weather, i still get plenty of air...fortunately, AC is very strong in LC. Easy to interact with phone. Perfect line of sight.

The entire experience of the antiquated head unit is glitchy for us - dropping connections - etc. I have a phone mount but carplay is an entirely different level.
MUCH safer integrated controls with Siri. I'll never buy another car without it.

Wow that sucks. I connect via USB...so my connection is rock solid. BT for phone calls. I use “Hey Siri” for most of the functions. I also make use of Siri Shortcuts to make things easier. For example, I say “Hey Siri, take me home”. It sends a text to my wife to tell her my time of arrival, brings up navigation with home address already in, and sets the playlist of my phone (and thus car).

But yeah, you’re right...CarPlay would be a bonus for sure.

Awesome. Unfort, my 200 doesn't have hey Siri.

You millennials are weird 😂

ha! I’m a little bit older than that but I LOVE CarPlay in my other car. If Toyota wanted to use 1995 computers in their head units they should have made it a Din or Double-Din so it was updatable. It’s kind of like Apple soldering in memory what they’ve done.

Oh my God I’m in my 70s what in the hell did you just say😳😂

They put Carplay in the LX. Was that a new headunit?

It's a bummer because having a 200 with Carplay would make it the ultimate futreproof LC, perhaps even better in some ways than whatever the new 300 ends up being.

The LX570 does not have CarPlay.

Who needs a damn back up camera!!! You need all that technology crap you shouldn’t be driving a damn vehicle. OK I just prove that I’m 71 years old right 😳😜😂

When parallel parking, the front bumper of a car behind me is below the level of the rear window. As such, when backing up the LC, you simply can’t see anything within 6’ of the back of the truck if that item is lower to the ground.

Yes, I did parallel park my ‘03 4Runner, which did not have a backup camera and I managed not to hit anything during the 13 years that I owned it. But there is simply no argument that it is easier and less stressful to backup the LC with its backup camera.

I’m 60-years-old. Backup cameras are a good thing, particularly as I get older and stiffer.
