Ya, fair point. I think that’s probably true for most, so maybe it’s an unfair suggestion. I’m have an older cellular model that I leave in the truck 24/7, so that helps a lot. I agree it would be a pain if I was shuttling it in and out of TGs truck every time. So far, no attempted theft, but I’m sure it could be a target.
I do, I have a 10.5” pro in it... stays there all the time it’s very hard to tell it’s there at all

Ya... If there was a way to pipe my rudimentary head-unit screen functions to a smaller screen on my 08...I’d gladly permanently mount my iPad over the screen. I literally keep my head unit screen turned off, and it only comes on momentarily for inputs like AC, etc.

And I agree—in your newer dash style, that iPad looks like it is part of your stock unit.

It’s just the Smart Cover, it’s magnetic
It’s a cellular version, enabled WiFi calling and all icloud features to be able to not even need to pair my phone.
Also to back up I just flip the iPad over.
For power I got a magnetic adapter and routed it behind the panel

The GC has lots of nice doodads. The infotainment system, in particular, is far superior to that of the LC. Reliability, however, is suspect.
Lol, suspect? Jeeps, like all FCA, are all literally rolling garbage. I’ve had 4 Jeeps and Chrysler’s in the last 10 years, and they have all disintegrated within 80k miles. I’d like to use expletive here, but they’re ****ing pieces of s***, doesn’t quite explain it fully enough. NEVER. AGAIN.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee is now near 200k and has never let me down.
Unfortunately they no longer make them like this.

Factory OEM Merc. Benz Diesel (pre blue tech).
Range 1200+ miles with Long Range tank (from Ward on here)
8k winch
Water (approx 36")
Quadra Trac II 4x4 traction plus locker.
Straight rear axle, with independent front.
33" tires .. and 35's fit
Full skid plates end to end.
Dual Batteries with a deep cell for the aux.
Cell/3g/4g signal booster.
Tow capacity 7400.

Why? Stowe it under a seat or slip it in your backpack

I don't want to leave it in my truck and I don't always carry a backpack. It's one more thing to lug around.

As a software developer who works closely with Infotainment teams in car manufacturers and Tier1 companies, I would not recommend anyone to choose a car based on having/not having CarPlay! It is by far the worst Apple product. It is very buggy and laggy. Although it is a nice gimmick to play with in the first few months of ownership, you'd never depend on it.

@mmbirtcher, the comparison made me laugh:) specially the leather shift knob!
