Does anyone make aftermarket front calipers for 2016 cruiser? I think I have one sticking causing terrible wear and the dealership is pretty expensive

You can save considerable amounts of money using one of the online parts suppliers. Parts.autonationtoyotasouthaustin.com are good guys and consistently well priced.

A 16+ cruiser is an expensive vehicle with parts made to a very high standard. Not sure I’d trust much discount aftermarket stuff to hit that standard

thanks

I will do the online part since it saves about 100 but found it strange there wasn’t an actual after market option from researching

It is a unique part, I don’t think it’s even the same as the part on a tundra or sequoia. There just weren’t many of these cruisers made and the rate of failure is really low.. if they ever hit the aftermarket it’ll be quite a while and there might not be much savings.

Did the dealership offer to refund the core value when you return the old one? That does bring down the price. I have a dealer that offers 25% off retail parts prices and does refund core values. That makes OEM much more doable.

No but I will check on that

Based on my experience with a sticking caliper on a 4Runner, I would only buy a new Toyota unit from a Toyota dealer. And I'd replace both fronts.

$$$ but you know it will work.

Steering shake under breaking, similar to warped rotors. But was more intermittent. Went with IIRC Centric reman calipers. They were not coated and despite using caliper paint they still rusted. Still occasionally a slight shake under braking after the replacement.

What were your symptoms? Just wear or anything else - uneven braking, weird noise, etc?

move been through 3 sets of rotors for high speed braking shakes. Now intermittent slow braking jumping so the past two brake pad changes have shown the left front eaten up twice as bad as the right side and there’s always thicker dust on that rim. Strangely too it’s the outer pad that has the most wear

Same thing. Steering shake is gone now but it brakes straight. No pull
