My Tundra was making a little noise from time to time from where I thought was the middle of the dash, but when I really looked and "felt" for the noise I found that it was coming from the sunglass holder above the rear view mirror. Rattles and noises can trick one's ear into looking in a totally wrong area of the vehicle.
MScruiser, what "trim" are you referring to? The outside trim under the corner of the windshield?
I stuffed some thin microfiber rags on either end of the glove box hinge and that took care of most of the noise. I'm curious if anyone has an elegant solution (tightening a screw, spraying wd-40/graphite, felt tape).
