Greetings,

I am new to the site, long time GX/LC owner. Have utilized the wealth of information on this site for years and finally decided to participate. I currently drive a 2013 GX460 with the following:

Dobinsons 2.5 inch IMS lift
Dobinsons UCA’s
Full under carriage protection
Treaty Oak Kdss spacers
OE TRD 17’s w/ 265 70 R17 Bg Ko3’s
UNI filter mod

This vehicle has been my daily and adventure vehicle for almost 6 years. Other than two brake jobs and regular maintenance, the only repair I’ve had to complete was the timing cover and coolant valley leak.

Now with approximately 116,000 miles, I am having some seemingly serious electrical issues all of a sudden.

Symptoms are as follows:
- shifter goes into gear fine, but does not always illuminate drive.
- check engine light and 4lo light illuminated.
- flashing of center stack back lighting.
-auto lock feature consistently locking and unlocking in drive or reverse.
- vehicle recently had a dead throttle while driving, vehicle never stalled but depressing the accelerator pedal produced no result- this issue comes and goes.
- finally, the tail lamps remain illuminated after parking with vehicle off- this will last for hours.

I initially assumed the NSS needed replacing, but now that I have all of these additional issues. I am admittedly at a loss. Possible ground wire issue? Alternator, battery, battery cables? Mechanically I can usually diagnose the issue, electrical issues I have no experience or diagnostic skills to fall back on.

If anyone has any suggestions on where to start diagnosing these issue’s, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you all for any assistance you can provide, it is much appreciated.

Cheers!

I’d start by trying to pull some codes.

Easiest way is with something like OBD Link. It can basically see all the codes that Techstream can

To tag onto Acrad's post above, I have this product: https://www.amazon.com/OBDLink-Blue...nostic-Performance/dp/B07JFRFJG6/?tag=ihco-20
Then just get the phone app (OBDLink). It will give you all your codes and the ability to clear them. Not sure if this will cure everything, but even if you didn't have any issues, I use OBDLnik MX+ (along with Acrad and quite a few others). When I'm off roading, I use it to monitor tire pressure. Although our 2013 GX's (I have the same year, Lux model) only give an idiot light that one of any 5 tires is low on air, hence one has to get out there and check each one. With OBDLnik MX+. With OBDLnik MX+, it you show, in real time, tire pressure AND temperature for EACH tire.
When we're on a road tirp, I use it to monitor drive train functions in real time, like engine temperature, both transmissions temps, battery voltage, and more, along with may actual GPS speed, considering I'm running 35" tires, plus it's fun to know your long and lat along with altitude.

Thank you for the replies and advice. It ended up being water that had overwhelmed the sunroof drains during an uncommonly warm day where we had a ton of snow melt. The water ran down the A pillar and onto several connectors, fuses and ecm/bcm modules. After pulling the drivers seat, kick plate, carpet and several interior trim pieces, we were able to dry everything out and it’s back on the road with no issues. Definitely something to watch out for up here in the snow belt if you park your GX outside.

Thanks again!

Gotta love a cheap and easy fix! It's just a headache sometimes figuring out what the cheap and easy fix is! (if it's an option)
