Update - the shop let the car idle for a few hours and have found the coolant leak! They said it’s coming from underneath the radiator, so they are changing it out. While they’re in there, they are changing the fan and fan clutch at cost of parts given mileage on vehicle.

Good news! Just make sure you get the latest version of the radiator: Part Number 16400-50384

Oh yea, I too had a radiator fail down at the seam between the aluminum core and the bottom plastic tank. Not very common, but not unheard of. It was very hard to find this leak. It didn't leave much in terms of evidence. I found it almost by accident one day I was crawling around under the front end with the skid plates off trying to figure out why coolant was disappearing (just like you!) and noticed it was a little wet in that area.

Glad this one seems to be getting a good ending and appreciate OP’s updates. I was really invested in this one since I’m picking up a 200k mile LX570 and wondering if I’m holding a grenade with all the 3UR head gasket stories on mud.

Could you tell us the shop who found the issue? I am in Nova too and sounds like they did a great job finding something others couldn’t. Thanks.

IM Autohaus in Falls Church. They actually focus primarily on European cars. I used to take my BMW there and always had a great experience with them, so figured I’d give them a shot after Lexus struck out and previous negative experience with Koons Toyota in Tyson’s Corner.

Thanks for that. I had a poor experience with Chantilly Ourisman Toyota so good to know about this.
