Does anyone know if there were any pre-2016 models offered without a ceiling-mounted screen? I've been looking casually for a 200 for a while and haven't seen one but I'm wondering if I missed a year where it was a package option. I really don't want one and it's not something that I could just remove.

Actually it is something you can remove in about 5 minutes per side. Cover the gaping holes with @TrekboxX screen delete covers. Winning.

i have a ceiling mounted one and it folds up - i've never used it and actually forgot it was there!
I have a 2009 LX570 that does not have the Rear Seat Entertainment System. So they did make some.
Sorry I missed the ceiling portion of the post - reading comprehension down during Covid 19... Technically the drop ceiling screen (or any entertainment for the 2/3rd row is optional. It's rare to find them without as most dealers spec'd them.
2013 LX refreshed with the seatback monitors to which I referred removing.
Land Cruiser continued with rear seat DVD until the refresh in 2016, moving to seat back monitors. If someone has seatbacks pre 2016 chime in.

I've got an '08 LC no screen up top. If I'm not mistaken you just need to find a base that did not have the infotainment package added. This also takes away the rear heated heats
