Yep. That carrier bearing thing was a little treat that ARB provided when they eliminated some of thier models to shrink the number of products they had to produce and give a more universal fitting. I bought an old version that was brand new so I luckily dont have to swap carrier bearings. Hope to have it in tomorrow. Power steering and a rear ARB should be a nice change from what Ive gotten used to.

Shirts for the trip

We'd talked about offering shirts for this ride and the plan is to order shirts for only those interested since we have a smaller group attending compared to the Spring Tide Ride.

Shirts will be white or grey long sleeve with the Harvest Haul logo (see first post on this thread) on the back and a smaller logo on either the sleeve or left chest (see below).

We are also on a limited timeframe and plan to submit the order Thursday. Price per shirt isn't concrete as it will change based on how many we order; however it will probably be close to $20 each.

If you are interested in a shirt, please PM me with size and quantity by EOD Wednesday.

I think these are going to turn out really good and Heather did a great job on the logos!!

Last call

Last call for this shirt order!! I'll be sending the sizes and quantity in at 10pm tonight...so PM me if you want one :bounce:.

We wont be going up any class 5s or 4s (unless you want to). Lower Damnation is rock buggy only and few of them make it through without pulling cable.

Upper Damnation is doable and interesting, last time we did it there had been a rock slide at the entrance that made it interesting.

Mason Jar is far tougher than that video makes it look. There is also high risk on Mason Jar as it is on the spine of a ridge at the top of the mountain, a big mistake there could hurt you in a bad way. Great views from up there though. Great sppot to watch full on rock buggies do their thing.

There are several areas where there are some tough trails that have easy access in and out, like Grapevine. I've been up and down the lower section of Grapevine and it was pretty cool. It changes a great deal depending on how bad it has been rutted out by rigs and the weather. A couple people in our group have tried upper Grapevine but were unable to get up it, too slippery that day.

There is a rock garden on the Evarrts side off the side of trail #12. I have not gone through it but I have seen FJ Cruisers, Tacos and mildly modded Jeeps do the lower section. You'll need a bit more rig to continue past the first out.

There are a good many trails that are class 3-4 that are not strewn with huge rocks that are just technical. Harlan is my favorite place to wheel.

We're still going to let you lead the way! You still don't really get a good perspective from pictures and video of what it's really like, until you're right up on the obstacle...

All, is there anyone that would have interest in going on Monday, I have got some extra time and am considering going up sunday or even monday. If not I will leave Wednesday afternoon.

Brian,

We may have a guest, another FJC owner, visiting from FL. He is having some work done at Bud's shop (tummy tuck #3 from Bud). I've only exchanged PM's with him and I know that Stan has talked with him also. I offered an invitation to the outing knowing he wanted to test out his new upgrades and having the same set up, wanted to be available on his maiden run...

I don't think I can swing Monday, but can probably do the Wednesday thing. That would make the :princess: happy because I would leave Saturday night or crack of dawn on Sunday to get back early.

I am going to roll into Knoxville TN airport, snag my buddy and be up there Thursday late afternoon probably. is that when everyone else is arriving?

It would be mid afternoon before we get there. Proposing leaving Triangle at 7-8, stopping for lunch and rolling in 3-4? Proposed schedule for commenting will be posted up later....

Me too!

Ok final list...

Let me know if there are any additions/deletions:

I'll be there! I'm going to be in AVL Wed evening and cruising up to Harlan Thurs, I'll arrive shortly after lunch.

What's the thought on making CB's the default radio for the trip? I'm tired of burning through batteries in my cheapie FRS.

My wife Heather is also comming with me. We will arrive Fri AM 7:30-8

Sorry Jared, I knew you were going, just didn't put it on the list. That's why I wanted to make sure I had a final list!

As far as CB's, I've got one in the 40, but haven't gotten one for the 80 yet ((Wife is not going to like it :)) and yes I know you're reading this on my account you hacker!)). We may just make you and Jerry leader and tail gunner....

Thanks Brian

I just have a portable CB with magnet antenna - I really like it. Only problem is it sloshes all over the place while wheeling, need to find a permanent location for it to rest.

I actually have another one that I offered to Clint, so I'll give him first dibs...I'll put it up in the FS section.
