A couple weeks ago, I installed LED turn signals and noticed that the low input is unused in the factory wiring so I made a plug and play wire harness to move the DRLs from the dimmed high beam to switchback white/amber turn signal LEDs.

Before: Dim high beams we all know

After: Switchback LEDs in action:

The harness I made:

The Ts on the turn signal bulbs aren't entirely necessary as a pin can just be added into the empty connector but that would require bumper removal to work in there comfortably. The harness is quite simple, Ts into the turn signal bulbs on both sides and the other end plugs in in place of the DRL resistor.

Good work.. hadn’t considered this option for the LED bulbs.

Do you think a version of this interrupting the DRL resistor could be used to trigger the LED accents in 2013+ cruisers? Usually they only turn on with the driving lights, and the high beams are the DRLs as in your earlier rig.

I don’t see why not, you’ll need to bring out it’s electrical connection though.
