Romanski, what about the stranger who got the bronco started and then led you thru the mud hole. That was me.

I tell you what, your buddy in the CJ5 on 33's was fun to watch go thru the mud hole at the springs.

Ohhh man, that was you, ehhh  . Yeh, I saw you get my buddy in the Bronco started but then he went through the deep part on the left. I was like "I'm f**ked" thinking that was the best line. The Bronco was much taller than the FJ and I'm thankful you showed me the better line. Later, my buddy Mike in the CJ said you were having fun with Mike in the Bronco (both guys were Mikes). Glad the Bronco didn't get stuck, he had electrical gremlins and fuel pump issues most of the weekend after our local mechanic made his Bronco "trail ready"(that guy should be hung by his privates).

After we left the Rubicon Springs for Cadillac Hill, Mike in the CJ5 got some distance on us. He went the right way to Cadillac and we went the other way toward Rubicon Lake(?). The Bronco turned off while Mike was guiding me up a short climb. After we figured out that we should have went right instead of left at the junction, we spent then next two hours trying to start his rig.

What an adventure! Can't wait to do it again!

It was actually the bypass of the hill. (thousand? 10k? million?) -- the trail to the right. Tried to cross the crack, and got crossed up a little

Ross,

I think that the spot that got you is actually THE TRAIL.

Good to see you again and thanks for cooking!

after pulling somebody else off that big rock backwards, I had only 3 wheel drive :) my lockrite sounded like a 30-06 going off. good times.

Mickey - the area before, and after the Big Sluice as well as Walker Hill made me ask myself 'how the hell did I get myself into this?"

I was a bit upset at first about the dings and scratch but I would not give up that experience for anything! Plus it felt good to show all the haters what an FJ Cruiser can do :flipoff2:

I found myself wondering as usual on this trail - who the heck decided to go this way as the trail :) The dings and dents are a small price to pay for the bragging rights your vehiclee will have parked between a few lifted 4x4's at the supermarket. You know the ones that have enough armor all on them to coat 23,000 sqft of non stick skillets. :) As much as I broke something, I was not surprised. Its the kind of the trail where you are surprised if nothing broke.

Thanks mickey! Yeh, mostly everyone says to leave the scratches. I'll leave all except the one that always bothers me when I look at it.

Total body damage $600 not counting plastic bumpers.

BTW Ya think those 4x4s at the market know what Rubicon is? I have to get some Rubicon stickers to put next to the carnage.

Didn't see any pics of wagons in the thread yet. Know people are putting it all together. I just hiked in but here are a few shots of PismoJim's Knuckles.

Andy not only led the 80 run but he provided wheel stand entertainment. Unfortunately my trigger finger was a little slow.

The Rubithon is not the hardest trail I've ever done. From start to finish it isn't a cake walk and at times it can be trying. I think what gives this trail it's reputation is not the obstacles but the length of the trail and the constant attention needed to complete it successfully. I would compare it to a Marathon.

Thanks all for the photos. Looks like loads of fun, and some really nice rigs.

Hello,
I am new here into this forum.

I was having the great luck, to spend my first visit in USA with very nice people at the rubicon trail.

Thanks to all, especially to Peter, who has in the first place enabled my participation.
