"rumor" says the snow is stoppin by noon, so with a little luck, the road crews have the main runs clear....

cya in Attica tonite!

Hey everyone,

My name is Dan. I am a newbie. If anyone remembers I was the passenger the red 4runner with the exo skeleton (4rnr) at the FJ event. I see that everyone is going to the badlands this weekend. I just bought an 88 4runner and I have been impatiently wait to break the cherry. It is bone stock except for the fact of 33x12.5 at's on it. Is everyone going to be wheeln hard or just takinging it easy? Obviously I have limitations of what I can do. I really dont want to be the fat kid in the group the slows everyone down ALOT.

33's will get ya most places that I'll take my 80-series....Jimmy's 80 has open diffs too IIRC...

bring it ;)

SNOW DAY!

no more pencils, no more books, no more students dumbfounded looks!

I'm leavin' around 2:00 I suspect. It's nice not to have to leave right from work.

The roads will be fine by then, but I'm gonna go south past the IL/ IN state line and cut over. I'm not taking any chances getting stuck for hours in the construction.

1:30 update - The roads in the Chicago area are wet, but clear.

easy drive down.....under 6 hours for 300 miles, so piece of cake...

I'll still be showing for a half day of wheelin' tomorrow at 130. After prime rib last time though, I don't need any persuading to stick around for food and libations afterwards.

seems like it was a good time today. I almost made it down there. I was about 20 to 30 minutes away when my truck decided to malfunction. Lost all oil pressure. Driver side engine compartment was coved in oil. Im not sure if it is a cam seal or oil pump. Good thing is that the engine isnt siezed. Im done for the winter so I'll probably see everyone in the spring. :)

I was lucky.

Well I guess I was lucky to make it home last night from Attica. This morning I went out to start the 60 and lo and behold, the air pump was siezed up. Gutted it out so now I am back in business. Thank God I was able to do that in my driveway. Looking forward to seeing some pictures.

Small turnout this year from the Toyota guys....

Jimmy givin directions as usual, and AJ in his nice cherry 80 series. He look more comfortable than with carhartts and woolies and no top like last year.

Woody--did you take the 80?

Best.
