2001 real time 4Runner help/question

I've got a friend whose wife is stranded across town right now with a 2001 4Runner problem. Her AT Oil Temp light, oil pressure light, and one other light all come on when she turns the ignition on. The car won't start, and the factory alarm won't turn off. Any ideas on what this could be? I know that a certain combination of lights in my 80 Series means that the alternator is dying, but I don't know 4Runners. Any help would be appreciated.

Could be a dead battery in the remote, not allowing her to shut off the alarm...

Just guessing here, but have her disconnect the battery, wait a couple minutes and then put it back.

Thanks for the reply. Turned out to be a defective battery.
