Story: Bought this a month ago. It is my favorite exterior/interior color combo. At the time, the thought was we’d either sell my wife’s Sequoia or my 2007 LX470. Once we got it home, my wife didn’t want to sell her Sequoia. And after going back and forth on it, I just can’t sell my 07 LX470. We can’t keep all of them, so this one is going back on the market.

Pros:
TB/WP and valve cover gaskets Feb 2021
Front CV Axles at 111K miles
Transmission done at 45K in 2002 at dealership
Southern car all life so no rust
Brake test seems good (32-34 secs for pump to turn off. I don’t see in the maintenance history where brake assy was replaced, but that is better than my 07 LX470 for that test. Seems good.)

Also just lots of maintenance records in general. I’ve got a folder full of receipts from PO(s).

Cons:
It does have a rebuilt title. PO bought from auction in 2017. PO said all he did was replace back tailgate and had it repainted to match car. Have documentation to back that up along with pics of truck before being fixed.
Radiator a bit brown, but I’ve seen worse
Weeping power steering hoses at PS reservoir
Sunroof doesn’t work
Wood trim has seen better days in some spots
Steering wheel a bit worn on top
And, of course, D light is out

Seems like it has really good bones to me. Car has a pretty smooth ride and is really quiet at stop lights and red lights.

I’m only listing here for now to give this forum/community first dibs at it, if interested. This community has been incredible to me in terms of knowledge as well as different members answering direct messages and in some cases sending me parts. Hopefully, it can find a home with someone here.

According to PO, the only damage was to the back tailgate, which he replaced.

pics of damage attached.

To be clear, it was my understanding the damage to the back was what cause the “total loss”. Damage to the front had happened before the rear damage and has obviously been fixed now.

I understand some folks will run away from a rebuilt title and may have had bad experiences with them. I will say I’ve owned 3 cars with rebuilt titles and all have been great cars. I had an 02 4runner (3rd gen 4runners I love almost as much as the 100 series), an 07 Sequoia, which my wife still drives and loves, and now this Land Cruiser.

I want to be as transparent with you guys as possible as I know there may be apprehension with the rebuilt title and past accidents.

Let me know if anymore questions.

@smitty071 In the pic above doesn't the rear driver side quarter panel look completely buckled?

Around here, rebuilt/salvage vehicles are advertised a lot. Often they are flood cars from TX, or total loss purchaed from Copart and fixed and resold. I had one a while ago. No problems WHILE I had it, but then I realized there is 0 resale locally. No one wants them. So had a super hard time getting rid of it. Your geography may vary

It can be tough to sell them, no doubt. I sold my 02 4runner, which was a rebuilt. I found that being as transparent as possible helps.

Rebuilts can be a good opportunity to get a good car at a discount. And in the 100 series case, people typically want to keep them forever. So folks may not be looking to resell anyway.

I recognize the appreciation for these here and I respect the members here. I wouldn’t put something on here I didn’t think was worth it. I know folks may want a PPI and I fully support that. And if someone comes to look at it and drive it, they’ll see it’s a good vehicle.

That being said, if no one here wants it after a day or so, I’ll put it on other platforms to sell. No worries at all.

PO lied to you if he said he only replaced the rear tailgate. That corner is crumpled to the point it may even be rubbing the tire? Look at the gap of the liftgate. What have you found inside that rear quarter panel? Unless that rear quarter has been cut-out and replaced then there is bondo on the outside.
GLWS, the inside looks amazing! Wish my 2000 looked that clean! Even on the outside.

I do see what you’re talking about @Land Speeder.

I was comfortable buying the rig. Drove it back 4 hours to my place. Had it looked at and all checked out ok. Previous owner drove it for four years and sold it when he bought an 06 LX 470.

The vehicle is in good shape. It’s a chance for someone to get a low mileage LC at a solid price. Especially considering the current market.

I’m going to be transparent about everything and at the end of the day, buyers are comfortable with it or they’re not.

Interior looks great but got to echo @landspeeder your BEST case is about $5k off your asking price.

That’s an interesting take considering I’ve already had a few offers well over $8500.....
