Quick question...is there something wrong with putting Rustoleum under your vehicle to protect it from salt damage? Is it damaging the vehicle in some way? I put it underneath all my vehicles since I moved to NY from VA. I wasn't trying to cover up or hide any rust, the vehicle is in excellent condition and I stand by that, but I sense from the responses that it is frowned upon? Feedback would be appreciated.

Rustoleum will not help protect your car from salt damage. It does not "seal" anything...just makes it harder to work on later and makes it look like your hiding something.
Keven, This is Brian from Buffalo, we talked on the phone a few weeks ago. We are still looking and you know what my price range is, so call me if you want to talk. PM for my # if you dont have it anymore.

semlin; I took the vehicle through a car wash Sunday and then got under it and took pics. There are no, "before and after" pics from the same day. I dunno why they may look different; different angle maybe, not sure. As I've mentioned in earlier posts, there was some surface rust on the gas tank cover, which was hit with rustoleum. I can understand now why putting Rustoleum underneath is making the vehicle seem shady. I am not hiding any rust. I am not a dishonest person, nor am I trying to con anyone. I was always told to use rustoleum, I've used it on all my vehicles. If I was trying to con anyone I would've deleted this posting, instead of replying to comments that seem like they're questioning my character. Clearly the rustoleum is being rec'd as a bad move, but it was done was the best of intentions; albeit obviously misguided. If anyone lives in my area, I would welcome them to check the vehicle out; top to bottom to verify it's condition. If anyone would like to discuss the vehicle, please PM me for my home number.

not suggesting you are dishonest but more making an observation so people can see what it looks like before it was spray painted which is what they need to know.

anyway, on those first two photos you see the same dirt speckle pattern on the front cross member and skid plate, yet on the second shot the shock absorber and centre control arm appear to be freshly painted black compared to the photo directly above it, and i can see the rust on the lower control arm that seems to be painted over in the last photo (albeit the other side of the control arm)

my suggestion is you take some more photos down there but use the "macro" function on you camera so people can see what you did. it looks to me like you painted over fairly advanced surface rust which doesn't help stop the rust but does confuse the issue for people trying to buy the truck long distance.

Understandable. I sprayed underneath to make it look clean and nice, not to cover or 'hide' anything. It was sprayed long before my wife decided she wanted something else. Obviously I am regretting that now. I have sold a few Broncos and LCs on this site and have never had this issue come up before. If there are any serious buyers that contact me, I will take more pics, using your suggestions for the camera setting. Thank you.

Gotta Go. First $10,900. I am going to put new rotors on it. I will lower the price if someone wants to do it themselves. Other than that, it runs and drives great.

Sorry if I missed it, has it had the 90K service done with timing belt? Isn't there a company up north that rustproofs vehicles Zibert or something, ever had that done to it?
