Hi Everyone,
Fairly new to the forum. Just checked out a 2015 200 series local to me. Seller is asking 20k
210k
A long list of maintenance done in Massachusetts.
The problem it was sold and is now here in California.
My biggest concern is the RUST!
Is it work the 20k or should I just pass completely pass on it. The photos didn’t come out the best.

That body mount looks like straight up rot that has been painted over. The other pictures don't look too bad, but it's hard to see what's going on.

:edit: is that first pic the cab floor? If so, that's also a pass.

Also the pinch welds underbody concerned me because that’s where a lot of the rust was.

Yeah, bodywork is expensive. I passed on a good local cruiser because it had just a little rust in the rocker pinch weld.

Don't let the price tempt you, this is not your cruiser!

Pass. This thing probably looked horrible and they just covered over all the rust with black rustoleum paint. I'm surprised it made its way all the way to California. I usually see 200's for sale around the VA/MD area like this.

That may not be black paint. Looks like the original owner had a Z***** hard rustproofing coating done at some point. That hard rubberized coating is the absolute worst for protecting metal from rusting as it traps moisture and salt against the metal. It will still look solid as long as the rubber coating is not peeled off. Given the look at the rust holes, I would expect the entire frame to be wrecked and full of holes behind the coating.

Lanolin products like WoolWax, Fluid Film, Crown, etc absolutely work. Hard coatings DO NOT.

I would run away from this vehicle.

Greatly appreciate it. It was too good to be true
