Prerunner Update(First damage report):
So it just hit me that it's been half a year with the prerunner setup on my LC200 and I have to say I learned alot from using it while also having a absolute blast. However this weekend I decided to finally stop staying on one setting on the front ICON bypasses, and i'm really glad I finally did. I fully opened up the rebound clicker(it was fully closed, meaning slowest rebound), while it was really really stable being very slow and stiff on the rebound it did not have the cushiest ride. After lighting up the rebound all the way upfront and also going from medium compression to the softest compression I now actually feel like I have 16 inches of wheel travel upfront. It feels so much smoother, more playful like your on a water bed, it was outstanding. I loved it so much I couldn't let go of the throttle, I kept on searching for bigger and bigger bumps out in the desert. Yes it was less stable since it was opening up much faster but now it actually using all 15 inches of stroke to absorb the springs energy and it feels amazing while doing it.
However after 3 hours of straight abuse, I noticed the steering was feeling loose and misaligned I initially ignored it until it got to the point where the vehicle would go left when I let go of the throttle and it would straighten back out after giving it throttle. I am really thankful that I noticed the issue while I was in a open area. It is no surprise at all that parts got damaged the vehicle was being pushed to the limits for 6 months. So I put on the hazard lights and went back to the workshop very carefully and did not go over 40mph since it was to risky, the vehicle would swerve to the left uncontrollably when letting go of the throttle for a few seconds.
It is currently sitting at the workshop getting inspected, I decided to do a full maintenance check since I remembered that I have not checked the vehicle since the beginning of the prerunning project. Ill replace any damaged parts and check on everything else, mounts , bushings , etc. The toyota technician will be coming tomorrow to check on the MAF(Mass airflow meter) and other sensors since after putting the OBD scanner in I was glad to find out that the "Check Engine, Reduced Power" light was because of the sensor not actually internal engine damage. That still didn't stop me from having fun today, even with 40% power available. Ill keep you guys up to date of the damage report.
Here is a video and some pictures of me testing it out in the neighborhood, its a shame I couldn't get any footage of the desert, my friend could not come with me today. Next time.
