Hello all, just quickly introducing myself...acquired our very first LC a few months ago (January). Picked up a 2014 CPO w/ 11K miles in great shape. It actually sat on the lot until mid-2015, so was only driven about ~7mo before we scooped it up.

I don't plan on any significant modifications or rolling through super technical trails (yet!) as it's my wife's DD and kid hauler, but definitely looking to embark on some adventures and light off roading with the kids in the near future. We've already logged a couple of road trips and this vehicle is just PERFECT.

Looking forward to learning from this forum.

Found more stuff blocking the roads in the mountains of Idaho...

Or he could have aired down and crept under it - ha

I looked at that option, along with placing the AHC into low... well, the body of the vehicle cannot get THAT low...

I had two buddies lift a downed tree last week on a trail so my roof rack could squeeze under.
I'll be packing a chain saw from now on when venturing out ride trails.

Welcome!

This has got to be one of the most helpful Cruiser communities anywhere.
I'm constantly amazed at not only how much knowledge is on this forum, but also how willing people are to help. I've learned a ton and always look forward to clicking through posts here, and sharing little things here or there.

See you around...

I installed some ARB drawers last weekend in my 2016 LC. I'm a huge fan of the drawers thus far and celebrated with a spontaneous Sunday trip along Old Coast Road to Big Sur.

Here are some notes I made regarding the drawer install:
  • Removing the seats was pretty simple but removing the trim panels around the seat mounts was tricky even with the proper removal tools. It's still not clear to me how they were supposed to be removed without putting stress on the plastic tabs.
  • The installation uses bolts that are part of the seat assembly. There's no need to drill new holes.
  • You'll need to trim some subfloor below the carpet/insulation to fit the forward spacers (at least on the 2016). I made room for the spacer with the Dremel tool.
  • The "decorative trim" that needs to be removed is only along the front of the drawer. The instructions aren't clear on where the decorative trim is located.
  • I decided to connect the drawer units prior to placing inside the vehicle. That worked out just fine since I had a buddy to help me place the unit inside the vehicle; otherwise, I'd definitely suggest following the instructions in build thread linked in the FAQ to loosely bolt in one drawer at a time in the vehicle.
  • There was not a set of pre-drilled holes at the exact center measurement to mount the forward HAT/crossbar. I kept the HAT/crossbar in the default position but did some minor trimming with a Dremel.

Hey Indycole, are those wheels the new Roost matt black wheels from Method Racing?

The plastidip holds up pretty damn good, but it has it's limits:D I have been pounding on it, I may have to redo it after Moab/Ouray!
