200.00 sliders

And, to that point, Eric (Land Speeder) and Mark (Heckler) had lots of currency in terms of time and cashed that in. The result is some heavy duty, well built sliders that look nice and are very functional for under $200.

That $200 hasn't been inflated with what their time was worth, but as was Eric's point all along, they had more time than money to tackle this project in which money > time.

That isn't always the case for everyone else, but it was for them.

For the record, I have Hanna sliders on my 80 and have a good reference point for well built, expensive sliders... :D

quote snowcruiser: BELIEVE ME any set of sliders built for an LC80 that sells for under $600.00 is questionable at best.

WHATever!!!!
i could make them and sell them for around $500.
and they'd be tougher than most mass produced sliders.

i am choosing not to, because i have no extra time to mock up and build.

so how much did you build yours for?
questionable at best!

Yo Bro, not trying to pick a fight here! If you really can make and sell LC80 sliders for $500 and "they'd be tougher than most mass produced sliders" (do mass-produced sliders exist for 80s?) do it as you're likely to get a lot of business!

If its truly profitable I am sure you'd find the time to make them. By my logic I am assuming that you could then cover the cost of labor, materials, shop supplies and finishing for about $250.00 in order to make a normal profit of 50%. This seems unlikely to me after making a set myself, although I am far from an expert. Heck if you have the recipe hire a welder part-time for $20/hour to build them and then your time is still free for your "other junk" like wasting time on useless slider argument threads on IH8MUD.
