Planning to do Johnson Valley (Bullfrog area) on 2-3 of Feb. if anyone is interested to join. The plan is to do Bullfrog area the first day and camp. Then head up to Big Bear the next day to do some snow run at Gold Mountain and John Bull then head home. Anyone and everyone are welcome to join in on this run.

I might be able to join you for the Big Bear runs on the 3rd. I live up in the San Berdu mtns and have that day open. Are you familiar with the trails? What time are thinking about getting to the gold mtn. trail head?

Let me talk with my wife tonight and make sure she hasn't scheduled anything for us that I don't know about.

Crap!!! I just spoke with my wife about wheelin on the 3rd and she gave me this glare like I was a total idiot. My mind instanly starting racing through dates likes our kids birthdays, anniversary, etc. I assumed I had forgotten some huge date. She politely reminded me that it's Super Bowl Sunday and we have 30+ people coming up to our place. So, unfortunately I'm out. Not sure how I forgot about the super bowl. Saturday I will be helpin her clean and set up for the party; so I'm out. Next time you go out wheeling post up on here and shoot me a PM. I wheel in Big Bear all the time and really want to start wheelin with some fellow 80 guys.

I did not realize that it is Super Bowl weekend. I guess I will have to change the date to the following weekend.

Is this run going to be too much for a locked 80 on 255/85/16s?

Bull Frog/Cakewalk are trails that have something for everyone. There's stuff for stockers to buggies. Gold mtn is a medium rated trail. I ran through it years ago with my TJ on a 2" BB and 33's open front and rear and had no issues. I have run John Bull on 33's open from and rear on two different rigs. I actually enjoyed it a lot more then when I ran it with my XJ on 37's and lockers. Your 80 with lockers and 255/85/16's should be able to run all those trails. The question to ask it how much armor you have. Any sliders? John Bull and a few spots on Bull Frog and Cakewalk could put a hurt on your rockers without sliders. I wont have my bumpers done by the 9th-10th weekend so my stock bumpers will be coming along to get the crap mashed out of them. No worries though.

If you go the following weekend then I may be able to join you both days. I probably wont be camping since I already live local and I kinda like my warm house and big bed. Winter camping and frozen jewels isn't my thing.

Ok, just talked to TJ and the new dates to do this run is Feb. 9-10. Unless things change this is the date we are looking at.

Be aware that King of the Hammers race will have 30,000 people crawling all over Johnson Valley from Feb 1 - 10.

I will be there for the final race on the 8th with my Media Credentials taking pics up close of all the action.

Looks like the 9th is the award ceremony day. We should be good in the Bullfrog area that weekend.

BigDave, dusty flopped his Bio-Hazard 80about two winters ago and never got around to chopping it, he wheeled that beast out here a few times, but just busy building an IFS StarFighter to run the hammers this year, if he makes the finals make sure you get that camera of yours tuned to 20 frames per second to catch all his action.

Nick, I may be up in BigBear on the 9/10, I'll be interested on the snow run.

The plan now is to be there Friday morning to watch the final race of the Hammer. Do the trails Saturday and head up to Big Bear on Sunday morning.

Anmer, it would be nice to see you again if you make it on Sunday in Big Bear.

As of right now it is still on. I'm waiting to hear from my employer to see when they will be taking me back. If I can't go TJ and Brett might still go.

Sorry guys but the trip is canceled. I will post again when I find out when we are heading out there.

Ok. Thanks for the heads up. I might go anyways with another local 80 guy. If we don't get too much snow up here then I will go. I want to try out my flex now that I have made a few modifications to the suspension and bumpstops.
