I am looking to find out what other Toyota wheels will work on 1st gen pickups. I would like to get rid of my rusty chrome rims and go to an early 4runner style aluminum wheel or possibly an FJ60 chrome rim. I have seen in several post that late model rim do not work on old solid axle rigs.....
I want to stay with the same size tire I have so I would need to stay at 15 inch rim size....

No pics, but I've got 40-series rims on mine, and love them. They have the perfect look, rust in a few choice locations, and great patina for a sleeper rig.

60/62 chrome wheels are the same as the old SR5 chrome wheels.

You can run the newer SR5 alloys on a solid axle by either using spacers or swapping the front hubs to IFS hubs. That's what I've done, you will need adapters to put the brake rotors on these hubs though.

FJ60 or 62 Wheels are the same and as cheap as anything you can get. I keep getting sets of them for $75 or less.

Yes but I think the rear axles were also a little wider starting in '86 which means they will sit in further on older SA trucks, but not far enough to rub anything from what I've read.
