Hi guys,

Im rebuilding my 1HDFT engine and I just came across a brand new Short Block Assembly of a 1HDFTE.

The short block includes the all new parts already fitted by toyota such as the crank, pistons, rings and main big ends.

Ive been told that other then the crank sensor all my other things should bolt on straight onto the block from my 1HDFT such at the Head, Pump etc?

Just wanted to know if thats true plus also if its advisable to make adjustments to the short block or just have it fitted straight on ?

Should such a rebuild be done? will share more pics shortly

Thanks

I have been researching this exact thing for my 1HD-FT. I've talked to multiple sources and they all say it will indeed work on your 1HD-FT. You'll just have to plug the crank position sensor port (recommended to just buy a crank position sensor instead of risking a DIY plug failing on you)

It’s your lucky day. NICE FIND.

And for anyone interested, here is the short block,

And here is partial engine assembly,

Cheers

Hi guys update checked and the head, oil pump and everything else fits fine and will simply add a crank sensor just to fill the hole in the block!

Replacing all plastic pipes and radiator.

The pump & turbo have been sent for service

Will update with more details

Reviving this thread as I had a follow up question to this very situation and couldn't find an answer elsewhere. By using the FTE Block with the included pistons does that mean the OP shouldn't use their FT Head? I read that since the Injectors and FT Head are a little bit different, that one should not use the FTE Pistons with an FT Head becasuse the bowl in the piston is different as well as the injectors.

Thanks!
