Can anyone diagnose this?
57 plate 4.2 1hd-fte 5 speed auto, 198,000 miles.

Loud pop from engine bay whilst towing, engine temperature guage then went to max.
pulled over and turned off straight away, coolant all in engine bay and large tear in the top of the radiator. Engine was left off until cooled.
Engine still has oil, oil looks consistent, not milky and no metal (as far as i can see). Turned it on and constant ticking noise from engine.

Hopefully this link works, please let me know if it doesnt.

Is this an engine failure? Injector failure? any ideas?

What are my options? Replacement engines? rebuilds? any idea on costs?
Vehicle is used daily for work purposes, tows often. Sometimes towing 3.5ton. do approx 15k miles per year.
TIA.

Could be a few things, do all the standard checks, ie check valve train, see if you can isolate which cylinder is making the noise (crack injectors), compression and leak down test. Also make sure there is nothing external interfering, like the fan hitting something.

FYI, your Radiator is due for replacement, not far from failure, the colour has shifted.

No oil contamination on coolant is better. I’m positive loud pop was from the radiator top cap releasing excessive pressure the way it was designed. From the video you shared that loud tapping sound can either be a valve or main bearing. Remove your oil filter, cut it open and see for metal particles and hope for the best, then take the next steps from there.

Cut open your oil filter and look for any loose metal particles. Don't use a saw blade as it can throw metal into the filter.

I have metal filings in the oil

Ouch. Do you have pictures? And yes do a compression test on all cylinders. Also if you have a bore scope, that would help you diagnose the engine better before you start any tear down process.
