I’m i’m having issues with my air-conditioning cutting on and off. I think I’ve narrowed it down to a bad relay for the AC clutch, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out where it is or what it looks like somebody could help with that I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks!

The compressor relay is on top of the evaporator housing behind the glove box. Engine Coolant Temp. Cut Relay and Starter Cut Relay is also there.

Not easy to get to.

This may be why my AC runs for a while then gets hot? I had a local shop try and “fix” it. Maybe it was missing when I bought it a few years back who knows?

I don't see how your AC would work at all, unless they jumped that relay.

I believe they are different relays.

On my 1996 LX450, you are missing 9098703001. It maybe different on yours.

The other relay, which you have, maybe 9098702004. The part number should be on the relay.

Do you think they are the same relays? Or two different ones?

I believe there's a difference between the LX450 and the FZJ80 AC control.
The LX450 has 3 discreet relays. The FZJ80 has 1 relay that is controlled by the AC Amplifier.
The AC Amplifier receives feeds from the NSS, the water temp switch, and the head pressure switch, and controls the single relay that runs the AC clutch.

That is a good point. I have auto climate control and I am guessing that @WyattEarp1789 doesn't.

Looking at the picture provide by OP, there are no wires back feeding the relay socket on the right. Meaning. there was never a relay there to begin with.

Yea, I saw that too. IIRC, the LX450 and 40th Anniversary got auto climate control. The standard FZJ80 did not.
