I have had questions on the paintwork so I went down and looked at it myself. Not that it helps much, to be honest, as I am not a good paint and body judge. But, nevertheless, it appears to my untrained eye that from the A-pillars up has no clearcoat. Basically the entire roof. The rest of the circumference of the vehicle does have clearcoat. Which should mean newer paint than the original as the 1996 white did NOT come with clearcoat from the factory. I still cant find a possible impact point with the pole--I cant tell if it was backed-into or hit from the front. Or, i guess in theory, in bad weather if a slide was induced then a side-impact is also within the realm of possibilities. I wish Dan was still here, i would take it to him and see if he could CSI it. Oh well. He is dropping it to $8K and gonna put it on Craigslist. We haven't tried that venue yet.

I am going to assume that at 170K miles that is has the original timing chain. You don't replace timing chains in 80s like you do timing belts in the 100s. But I'll have him check the records and see if there is anything in there.
