I will be installing a V8 into my rig, and I also want to put solid axle, I would like at least 6-8 " lift above the top axle. what springs do you use to handle the weight difference from the old 3.0 to a V8.

I have a built set of Dana 60's with 42's with Hydro steer
I have a 360 with 727, and 205 twin stick

I rolled my last dodge too many times, and wanted a 4 seater, and got the 4 runner.

any suggestions would be great.

I was on the fence about doing 4 link, but thought I should run leafs first then convert to link.

I have been looking on the web, and have found some solid builds but have not seen specifics about larger tires, full size axles and V8, but probably looking in the wrong places.

be kind in the reply's if this is a stupid question to the toyota gods.

As bad as I hate to say it, Pirate 4x4 will probably net you more results on this type of build. They do a lot of v8 and ton swaps over there in their Toyota section. If you haven't been over there before then I would read alot and post with caution. They are pretty famous for a flame first ask questions later attitude.

Good luck.

I just used the 3in TG springs on my 94 4runner with the 3.0. They feel a little soft but added 6-8in of lift. Saw that TG is offering HD springs which might help offset the weight of the v8 and the thicker pack might help with the axle wrap from the torque.
