Hello all-
I've got a 1994 80 series with ~240k miles I've been cranking on for a few years now.
My latest issue is the distributor giving me issues.
1.5 years ago I replaced the OEM (probably original) with a Cardone distributor. It lasted ~ 12 months until the rig started mis-firing and idling inconsistently.
Replaced it again with another Cardone after market unit.
Now that unit is bad.

I'm looking at going OEM part# 19100-66020 Distributor Assembly to avoid another aftermarket.
Would do you recommend? Worth paying the $600+ for OEM, or do you think something else is causing the Distributor to go bad?

Thanks for any feedback and recommendations.

Yes go OEM
Have you checked Partsouq.com they may have a better price.

I’d get the oem one. If the one you replaced was the original distributor it lasted almost 30 years and 200k miles. That’s a pretty good deal.

How are you diagnosing the bad distributor?
Have you gone through the trouble shooting in the FSM?
