Truck is SOLD!

I've got a 1988 Landcruiser FJ62 that I would like to trade for a slightly newer truck.

Bought earlier this year.
Complete tune up including: plugs, wires, distributor, coolant, fuel filter. Fluids including: oil, transmission with filter, differentials, transfer case, etc.
I drive it every day. I thought the truck had some transmission issues, but seems to have worked itself out (with my help of proper ATF fluid level). Front knuckles could use a rebuild. Truck has 31x10.50 Marty McFly wheels. FJ62 style wheels with stock size goes with truck also. TJM bumper MAY not be included. Its for an FJ80 anyways. Stock bumper available in good shape.

I'm looking at the 94-97 Land Rover Discovery, second gen 95-97 Montero (NOT the Montero Sport), second gen trooper, and second gen 4runner. Must be 4 doors. May also be interested in dual sport motorbikes. Only considering the vehicles above really.

May be interested in selling truck outright, however.

How many miles?

Trooper....Montero!!!! Are you kidding us all? Plenty of troopers for sale with shot transmission no matter where you look at montero's in the same boat with mechanical problems. Your FJ62 is twice what all of those other cars are....including the toyota 4-runner with the 3.Slow (I've had two and loved them both...minus the engine). Discoveries...I don't think you want to even get us started. There is a reason they sell for 50K brand new and are only worth 5-10K 5 years later.

Change your mind and keep the 62...Trust me I had one just like yours (year and color scheme) and I regret it every day. You have another 175K on that engine easy and if you really don't like the tranny and want a manual it is possible so I'm told.

I'm looking to replace my Buick with a reliable, dependable driver. I'd buy it outright, since you don't want the car I've got. Is there anything that would possibly compromise this from being my primary vehicle in a city where I don't know anyone, 800 miles from home? That's the situation I'm looking at, and I am quite interested in your truck. PM me if you'd like.

Thanks,
Brian

frame looks good in the traditional bad areas. if you took some time to spiff it up, i bet you'd sell it.

This truck only saw the Dallas metroplex, I'm technically the 2nd driver (3rd owner due to first owner passing away and 2nd owner parked it in his yard). So, No rust!

In what ways should I "Spiff" it up, Zimm?

I drive the truck every day and have not had any issues in months. I changed the fluid/filter in the transmission and then didnt put enough fluid back in... which caused some slipping issues. Rechecked the level and filled it back up with no issues since then.

What city are you in?
