1988 4Runner 22RE Alternator

[1969 FJ40]

While working on my 88 4runner (22RE) last night I noticed a loose wire.
It is the single wire coming out of the wire harness leading to the alternator.
It exits the harness very near the steering shaft above the alternator and is about 12-14ga and is about 14" long. It appears to have come out of the terminal but for the life of me I cannot find where it goes.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone can please instruct me as to where this wire goes.

What color is it? That will tell you, if you have a wiring diagram.

Black? That's the ground, should be a big ring terminal in the end, goes to one of the engine mount bolts.

Yep it's black and is a ground. Thanks for confirming my suspicion.
