1987 SR5 with a Chevy 406

Hey guys, I am new to this forum, so I thought I would say whats up. I have a 1987 Sr5 xtra cab pickup that has been converted to small block chevy. I recently tried to sell it on ebay and the bidding only got up to $1,100 and change. I have put a load of money in this truck and needed to sell it for Christmas money among other things. I had my reserve at $4,000 and couldn't get anyone to bid on it. 27 peoples were watching and thats it. I was not asking anywhere close to the over $14,000 I have in it. Was I expecting too much?
I still need some money, so anyone have a suggestion?

$4000 seems reasonable, the problem is most people aren't looking for an old 4Runner because they came with 406 Chevys...... They want them because they have super reliable underpowered engines that get decent gas mileage. And they are wicked bad!
