One other consideration is they impose a serious tax on any vehicle considered a "truck" leaving Canada and entering the US.....I seam to remember it was something like 25%.
I had a lucky event at the border when the crossing agent sat behind his desk and told me the story about how shocked a guy was that bought a Toyota truck for $25,000 and had to pay the tax. He said I was lucky that my fj45 was not a truck. Guy never stood up from his desk to see the fj45lwb sitting on my trailer and right in front of his window. I was watching my rear view mirror all the way down the road!
