I have a 1982 FJ43 for sale. It should be available by early March 2012 but I'm putting this out there ahead of time to hopefully presale the vehicle.

I purchased a FJ43 while I was in Colombia a few years ago. I had many people ask me how to do it and I gave them all of the information but nobody ever did it as they didn't want to take the risk of sending money down and not know what they would get or if they would ever get it. After spending all that time talking to them and trying to help them out I figured I would just do it myself.

Most everyone wanted to have something they could restore and were not wanting to pay the 40-50K+ price tag of others that were coming into the country. The average price wanted was about 15K. Sadly shipping from Colombia and other fees are thru the roof but I think I was able to get pretty close to that mark and still get a car that was not Colombianized if you know what I mean. I went thru 3 vehicles that all failed our inspection down there and we decided not to import them though they were great looking vehicles on the surface.

I will create a Picasa file later but here area a few photos for those interested. All stock (as far as I know thru my inspections) except for the wheels and a few things here and there. Only real option it has is Power Steering. There are probably a few other things here and there that are not stock but nothing major. There is a whole list of things that are unique to Colombia and the FJ43 but you can research that here online.

When it arrives and I can get a first hand inspection done and drive it around to make sure it is as advertised it will be ready to go out the very next day. I am working on getting new plastic vents as most of them are cracked on the hard top.

Hopefully this sells and if I don't actually lose money on the deal then I will start to bring in more and will probably officially become a vendor on this forum. If it doesn't work out and there isn't the interest I thought then at least there is one more FJ43 cruiser in the community. Will also be bringing in hardtops and soft tops from Colombia as well (1Xeach on this shipment). I will test fit the first one that is coming with this shipment but after that I will start to stock them here so there is no wait time.

Thanks and feel free to shoot me questions. Prefer to get them by e-mail as my inbox is already kinda full.

I don't have the exact arrival date yet but looks like it should land around the 1st week of March. It took awhile to get all of the paperwork squared away.

Yesterday I was lucky enough (Sarcasm) to get to support another unit at NTC at Ft. Irwin CA in March which means I won't even be here for a month when it gets here. Even though I will only be about 6 hours from it when it lands. Then about 6 weeks later I will be in JRTC for a month so not a lot of time to play with this one.

If anyone is interested let me know.

So what would make this interesting to people?

Completely stock full restore?

Diesel engine swap?

Expedition Build?

Leave it alone and let others do with it what they may?

Besides my FJ43 my dad is looking for his next car to restore so he is for hire as well.

I still really want to have this sold before it touches land. I want to get rolling on my own FJ43 so I can enjoy it before this next deployment and I need to free up the cash.

I know somebody out there wants an FJ43 as before I brought this in I had many inquiries on how to do it. I'm open to slight price negotiations.

Neat looking rig! I just scrolled through the pics in the link and it looks fairly clean. I noticed what appeared to be a crack in the frame where the right front spring mount attaches to the frame. It's the rear most or stationary mount. Just curious if you noticed that?

Bob

I did notice that actually and not sure if it is really a crack or not. Looked like a scratch at first but it goes behind the pin so I'm not sure. I'm going to have a look at it when it gets here. If it is I will take care of it before the sale.

Wow, two more guys from Savannah on here! I'm shocked. I'm probably not interested in buying but I'd love to see this thing when you get it here...

As of now being shipped to Portland Oregon as I will be in NTC for that entire month and won't have time to deal with it sadly. Might land in Oakland and go by train up to PDX or arrive right in PDX. Not sure which yet but should by the end of the week.

Any questions/offers shoot me an e-mail. Might take partial trades for things I need for my FJ43. Like power steering, new lift kits, and possibly other things.

I'm pretty sure it's not a scratch. It seems to go right through the center of the rivet hole. It would be difficult to put a scratch like that without some sign of it on the spring mount.

Still a nice uper rare survivor. GLWS!!

Headed to the Oregon coast. Should be there in around the time I return on March 25th. If interested shoot me an email as it is difficult to do on my phone. Also willing to partially trade for a camper to enjoy this summer. I am located in GA but truck will be in OR.

Did it come in yet? Let me know if you plan on bringing it here as I'd love to see it. Good luck!

I am just getting back from training on Monday. Just heard today it will arrive in Oregon around tuesday. Should be ready to go and looked over by the end of next week. If any interest at all please shoot me an email. I leave for.another month of training soon and will be out of the net again until mid June. Can work out shipping and help with any paperwork isssues. It will be located in North Bend Oregon and available to test drive at any time.

It has arrived in Oregon. I did a Face time with my dad today around the truck and it looks as all of the pictures did. One spot of rust on one of the fenders that I did not see in the pics but otherwise as noted. The front birf leaks a bit and will need a rebuild.

Also there is no crack in the frame. It is just a scratch so no issues there.

We have not ran it yet. It has been raining a lot I guess and haven't had time to go drive it.

Either way it is ready to go to a new home. I know someone out there wants to restore one to their liking.

Will accept reasonable offers close to my asking price, or partial trades for parts I need for my FJ43...H55, a Toybox, possibly a front HFS or similar bumper with an 8274 Warn winch, lift kit (not the same as the 40), Toyota Power Steering (don't want to cannibalize this trucks) or custom parts for my OM617 swap if anyone has anything like that. Will even take partial trade on a pop up camper if it is in the next 2 weeks.
