:steer:Hello all, I am selling my newly restored 1981 Toyota Land cruiser; I just got it back from the shop and I hauled it to my garage where it will set until sold. The restoration took 3 years and a bunch of money, however we have purchased a new Truck (Tacoma 4x4) and we no longer have a need for it. This vehicle only has 111K on it so you can be sure that there are many more miles left to travel. The engine is stock with all smog equipment as well. Many, many items were either replaced or repaired on this cruiser here is a “partial” list:

Complete weather stripping
New Drivers side floor panel
New Rear quarter panels
Window tracks and felts
All new Seat covers (OEM)
New rear lights
New Side lights
New Rear reflectors
New Rear emblems
New Trouble light
Rear sill
New battery
New spark plugs
New windshield
New paint
New side mirrors
New dome light
New Shocks
New brake light switch

The list goes on and on.

There are some very minor things that need to be accomplished they are as follows:

Find out why brake lights don’t work (minor wiring I am sure)
Fix window washer
Put new seals in front axel (I have the seals)

My Price: 18,900 OBO; I am located in Shelbyville Indiana and I would be happy to show this vehicle in person. I have plenty of restoration pictures as well.

I will require cash, money order or check. If a money order or check is used I will not ship until they clear. (Hate to do that but…)

I have the title in hand so that is not an issue.

Thanks! Jim

I have ordered all missing parts and they should be here today...very minor, but I felt it needed to be done. Thanks for the tremendous amount of calls...

Just need the caller ready to make the deal.

you mention mostly body related resto stuff... what about the mechanics? all seals replaced? radiator? suspension? brakes?

where was the truck originally from? rust? interior treatments? carpet? bedliner? rubber matts? for that much cake can you please supply more info. i happen to love the white 40s!

The vehicle was purchased from a guy in Oklahoma, it had some typical rust issues which I addressed as you can see. I haven’t done anything to the engine except change the sparkplugs and battery. The engine was replaced when the vehicle had 98,000, and it continues to run strong so I so no need. Since getting it back from the body shop I have mainly been working on some touch-up items

I Finished putting on OEM seat covers, bought lower dash pads, replaced the rear view mirror, headlights and I also replaced the small plate in bed which was missing. I just ordered a replacement motor for the windshield washer as well.

The next thing I plan to do is replace the shocks, I will either do it myself or reduce the price accordingly.

The frame was treated with por-15 prior to painting, and the underbody was painted as well. I have since added undercoating spray to the rear wheelwells since that is a typical rust area.

There is a rear floor mat which I cut myself, it is about 1/2 inch thick.

This is a great vehicle plain and simple, a lot better than some of the rust buckets I see go for a ton of money on e-bay.

I suppose I will put it on e-bay someday, but I really don't want to.

By the way, if the seals and such are of a great concern, I am willing to negotiate on the price to compensate. (somewhat anyway)

Thank you for your interest... Jim 317 223-9297

Bump for the 40. One big question . Why would you restore it and not keep it or drive it ? Why?

I'd take a serious look at it if I had the money

Care to trade for a 1968 Plymouth Satellite Convertible? I have it listed for basically the same price.
