1980 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 - Retired show vehicle. Toyota dependability + American Ingenuity = THIS FJ! Imagine a pristine FJ with all of the latest factory updates, then, get busy building it the way that you felt it should have been done in the first place with AMERICAN MUSCLE. Professionally built- 383 c.i. GM engine; Turbo 400 trans; 4X4; loaded with electrical upgrades; Cole Hersee battery selector switch; twin Optima batteries; air compressor with tank; power disc brakes, lifted, 35X14.5 - 15 Mickey Thompson BAJA tires; 6 point roll cage with zippered pads, fully functional factory and aftermarket gauges, Sidewinder III winch/ mounting plate, i.e. no rust; no body filler, stainless/ aluminum winch mount & bumper combination. ALL of the factory spot welds are visible on the cab/ body/ side panels. Mileage on the odometer reads 7,297 which appear to be actual miles from build date. That's a 1978 and earlier bezel. The 1979 and up are more rectangle with rounded corners.

The ad states that this FJ is modified from it's factory original configuration. It is not a concours restoration and it is not being sold as such. It is an extremely nice, very well engineered unit with a long list of capabilities. There is a LOT of $$$ in this FJ that was done by the person(s) that had an ultimate goal in mind and what you see is the culmination of that goal. I like the older FJ's as well as the first gen Broncos. Personally, I prefer later model upgrades/improvements as to what was current in that day/time period. They all drove and performed great in their day, but that day is gone and the body styles may be timeless, but the ride, handling, performance require updating. At least, that is my take and that is what I buy and sell. I do appreciate your interest and thank you for viewing my ad.
