1980 Short Bed

I am looking for a 1980 short bed. I have a long bed that I was going to convert to a short bed if I can not trade it for a short bed. If I convert it, I will need the dems for the short bed. Any suggestions?

is the wheel base the same from , long bed vs short bed ?

I believe the chassis is longer for the long bed.

You should look in the FSM (if you can get one) for the frame dims, but I'm pretty sure the difference in the bed length is made up in front of the wheels, the wheel base is longer. I know this is true with the '84-88 trucks:

Reg cab + short bed = SWB frame
Xtra cab + short bed = LWB frame
Reg cab + long bed = LWB frame

The only difference in the LWB frames is where the rear cab and front bed mounts are on the frame. They didn't make a 4x4 Xtra cab + long bed, only 2WD, frame is "extra long".
